Pictures of God

Not to be melodramatic or anything. But when John and I were standing in our backyard last night, staring into the sky with our jaws hanging open dumbfounded, he asked me what I thought it looked like, and I breathed, “God”.

And then we both had a good laugh because I’m not all that religious.

But if you asked me to tell you what I would imagine God might be like, this is as good as anything I can imagine.

I think this next one is my favorite.

These photos were all taken on a standard, slightly older iPhone, unretouched except a little bit of cropping. Just me standing in the middle of the backyard and pointing the camera pretty much straight up into the sky.

I know it looks like most of them are upside down. That’s mainly because I was pointing straight up, and there is no horizon for reference.

Here are a few with trees in them, to help you orient.

And now to bring it back down to earth.

When I include my backyard swimming pool, it looks definitely less god-like.
