Photo Contest Winners!

We’ll start with Honorable Mention – which goes to Windmill! Simple lines and stark colors make this a great composition. This one was taken by John. Yes, I know that sounds rather biased, but remember, this category is just honorable mention. It’s not like he actually won anything πŸ˜‰ Ok, ok, I’ll make him some cookies. After all, he was the one who insisted there be prizes. He should get something, right?

Next up – Third prize goes to…Stuck in a Stupid Skeleton Suit! Laura’s dog, Zane, pouts a bit and wins the third prize. Congratulations, Zane!

Although honestly, I sort of liked On Duty better; it made me think of Ghostbusters or something. Ohhh…Ghostbusters. There’s a seasonally appropriate pun there somewhere. Somewhere?

And the prize going to Zane is a calming dog collar! Zane will soon have an innovative, anxiety-relieving dog pheromone collar, for when he really just wants to chill out. Laura will have to tell us if it works. I wonder if they make those for people? I think I need one too, lol.

Up next, second prize goes to…Pumpkins and Sunflowers! This visually interesting, well composed, and autumn-infused photo was sent in by my friend, Tracey. She admits that it was actually taken by her friend, Jeanne, who had just finished a photography course. Maybe I should take a photography class myself! Anyway, thanks goes to Tracey for sending it in.

And also going to Tracey is a jar of “Simply Organic Pumpkin Spice”. Congratulations on winning second prize! I haven’t tried that particular spice mix, but I am a big fan of the Simply Organic spices. The ingredients in this one are: Organic Cinnamon, Organic Ginger, Organic Nutmeg, Organic Cloves. Mmmmm. Since it’s actually Jeanne’s photo, maybe Tracey can use it to make something yummy for Jeanne (and invite me too!) If only we all lived in the same part of the country.

And first prize goes to…drum roll…Leaf Pile! An adorable photo of my niece, sent in by Emily. Yes, of course the judge is biased! (But you voted for this one too!)

The first prize, currently on its way to Boston, is a cute little jar of Trader Joe’s Pumpkin Butter for this cute little pumpkin. Hopefully she’ll share it with her sisters πŸ˜‰
