Little projects while we wait

Once upon a time – many years and many lead paint flakes ago – someone thought powder blue was a good color for around the back door in the hallway next to the furnace in the basement. This is the hallway downstairs, between our room and the bathroom.

I scraped the loose paint off the best I could, and put 3 layers of new paint on top. The new paint looks blue too, but it’s actually a very slight gray. It’s just dark in this picture.

John has been doing fix-it projects too. There was an unused humidifier connected to the furnace that was leaking. Hmmm, maybe opening that one valve wasn’t such a good idea, lol.

He also installed this very nice dining room fixture that Emily had bought but hadn’t had time to install.

My friend send this beautiful card, which I framed.

I have never really been familiar with this art form before, it’s called quilling. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Quilling

It’s just curled strips of paper, but I’m guessing it’s not easy!
