Rattlesnake

This big sucker was in the yard at the vacation rental in Tucson.

Oh yes, that is ABSOLUTELY a rattle on the end of his tail.

Here he is turning and lifting his head to say hello to John (who stood his ground and continued taking photos like a nimwit).

The snake was in the dog run – the worst place in the yard he could have been. Luckily John had by some strange chance made it over there first, while the dogs were still dawdling on the patio.

After a few photos, the big guy (the snake) decided John and his camera were getting boring.

Bye-bye rattler.

So yeah, not exactly an advertisement for Tucson. Hotter than hell, huge rattlers in the yard, so why? Why?

Tomorrow I’ll post some more about the pool. The pool, the pool, the pool; I am completely entranced with the pool.

Also as you can see, that house was pretty far out in the country. Hopefully there would be somewhat fewer snakes in town. We wouldn’t move out to the country, it’s too inconvenient. And – rattlesnakes.
